1959 Mercedes 220 S Cabriolet

This car is in the process of being restored to its original color and condition. In the same family since new, it had gone through two previous partial restorations. The owner decided the car would look best if it were as close to the way Mercedes built it as possible. After extensive disassembly, the original color was located and matched. Eighty pieces of chrome were removed and sent for repair and replating. The results are well worth the expense and effort. The body was adjusted and extensively blocked to make the panels fit perfectly. The paint used is a single stage that was blocked between coats. It looks very much like the original type of paint used by Mercedes. We are now in the final stages of reassembly.

This car can be seen cruising the streets of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
